When it comes to films and cinema some things you just can’t change. Popcorn will always be overpriced, the trailers will never be unsuitable for the feature presentation, and the Academy will only nominate from the smallest group of films they can get away with.
Last years selection was typically slender, but this years list is positively anorexic. Unless you had a hand in 12 Years A Slave, American Hustle, Gravity, Dallas Buyers Club or The Wolf Of Wall Street I wouldn’t bother turning up at the Kodak Theatre next month.
